Hyundai and Ford in South Korea

Excursion in geography: Where to get spare parts on vacation...

The World builds Ford

It's well known to all of us that Ford didn't only produce Taunus & Cortina in Germany and Great Britain
Argentinia made them, too: The Knudsen Taunus and the Taunus 3. From the later one, the had a Coupé that was a local speciality One of theese is known to have made his way to Europe and now lives in the Nederlands.
When production in Germany had ceased, there has been a "Taunus 4" in Turkey. This "Otosan Taunus" was modernised in front and rear, had sierra dashboard and seats and plastic bumpers. That's why this model is absolutely disliked by the rest of the Taunus-Family.

Copied-right in South Korea

Hyundai, in the meantime well known in Europe, started by making Cortinas. They had a licenced production and built the Cortina MK II, from 11.68 to 9.71.
Since we're talking about reproduction, we consider it to make a statement by using copied images from the web this time (We don't do this, normally. Our pictures are often used by other pages, but almost never the other way round).
Also from South Korea: Ford 20M P7b ( 5.69 to 6.73) and the New Cortina TC1 ( 11.71 to 12.76)

Inspired, anyone ?

Hyundai -in 1975- released the first car which was a real Hyundai, an own car.The "Pony" can be imagined as a four-door Granada-Coupé, with a square hood and a cut-off front.
Or, better, as a mathematical equation:

Here we once wrote: "Got some politically incorrect pictures with South Korean streetlife and Cortinas ? Show us and recieve a place of honor on this page!"
now we got them, fresh from Thailand: taken behind the Kings-Palace in Bangkok ! Thanks to Daniel Kessler from Essen, who is at the moment giving away a well kept Taunus from 1981
